Repetitive  strain injury

What is a repetitive strain injury?

Repetitive strain injury (RSI) is when a muscle is put under strain due to repeating the same movement over and over again like typing on a keyboard, playing tennis or golf... This leads to the muscle becoming tired and contracted.
Poor posture like prolonged sitting can also create RSI and can lead to a torsion in the pelvis, feeling out of line and constant stiffness or ache in a muscle.

How can Osteopathy help?

Osteopathic treatment can help restore any misalignment in the spine or the pelvis and reduce muscle tension. The Osteopath can also give some advice on posture and exercises to prevent that problem from happening again.

We sometimes use kinesiology taping to  help support a joint or a muscle to reduce the effect of repetitive strain on them.
