The ankle and the foot are a very complex area full of ligaments, bones, muscles and tendons which although they are smaller joints than some of the body, they are weight bearing which means that they are the main contact between the ground and the body which makes them two very important joints.
Ankle or foot pain can be simply caused by a ligament strain but they can also indicate an issue from a different part of the body such as the spine, the knee and can even be an indication of systemic issues like diabetes or even vascular problems
